Please take a moment to review the following Terms of Use. If you disagree with any part of this Agreement, please do not use this Website.
1. Summary
(a) Definitions
Steve Hall trading as A Nonviolent God ("we" or "us" or "our") runs the subscription-based website (www.anonviolentgod.co.uk) (the "Website") where the user ("Member" or "you" or "your") can access free and premium content ("Content") plus gain access to various benefits ("Rewards") via a free or paid account ("Subscription/s") that is governed by the following terms of use (the "Agreement").
(b) Commitments
Our commitment to you is to publish consistent and engaging Christian content based around reading the Bible from the perspective of God being as nonviolent as Jesus. As a Reward for Members supporting the work of A Nonviolent God, we offer various benefits alongside granting Members a personal use license to access the premium Content we publish subject to the terms and conditions herein.
Your commitment to us is to use the Content we publish or gift to you for personal use only within the boundaries set by our Terms of Use. By accessing the Website, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and accept without modification all of our terms and conditions herein.
(c) Changes to this Agreement
We reserve the right to modify or replace any part of this Agreement. It is your responsibility to check this Agreement periodically for changes. Your continued use of or access to the Website following the posting of any changes to this Agreement constitutes acceptance of those changes.
2. Subscriptions
(a) Your Account
Creating an account requires you to provide us with your first and last name as well as a valid email address. By creating an account you are stating you are at least 13 years old.
Your Subscription may only be used by one person—a single Subscription shared by multiple people is not permitted.
It is your responsibility to maintain the security of your account, and you are fully responsible for all activities that occur under your account. We cannot and will not be liable for any loss or damage from your failure to comply with this security obligation. You must notify us immediately of any unauthorised access to or activity on your account or any other breaches or suspected breaches of security.
(b) Subscription Benefits
All Rewards for a paid Subscription are a gift from us to you for supporting the work of A Nonviolent God. Members are under no obligation to accept any of the Rewards we offer.
Members must have an active paying Subscription in the month prior to and in the month during a Book's publication to receive a Book-related Reward, except at our sole discretion.
- Dedication rewards will list the Member's first and last name on relevant dedication pages. The Member may request via email to (i) use a different display name (as long as it is not inappropriate or offensive in any way), or (ii) opt-out of being listed. This must be confirmed thirty days prior to the official publication date.
- Ebook Rewards will be sent via email to Members as DRM-free ePub files up to a month ahead of the official publication date.
- Signed paperback Rewards will be sent via post within four weeks after a book's official publication date. Members must provide a Mainland UK postal address to receive this reward. If the Member chooses not to provide a postal address, or a postal address is not provided after three reminders, this Reward will be forfeit.
(c) Content License
Subscribing to A Nonviolent God grants you a limited, non-transferable license to access our premium Content for personal, non-commercial use only. Your access to premium Content is dependent upon your Subscription tier. It is your responsibility to safeguard from other users the access your Subscription tier gives you to any premium Content, including any DRM-free ebooks gifted to you.
See section 3 for further information about premium Content.
(d) Email Newsletters
You are automatically subscribed to our email newsletters upon Subscription. You can adjust the newsletters you receive at any time.
(e) Payments and Renewals
Subscription payments will be charged on a pre-pay basis and will provide you with access to our Content for the monthly or annual period you selected.
Unless you cancel your Subscription before the end of the applicable period your Subscription will automatically renew and you authorise us to collect the applicable fee. Renewal payments will automatically be applied for the same monthly or annual period you previously selected and at the same cost you originally paid.
(f) Changing Plans or Billing Frequency
You can upgrade or downgrade your paid Subscription or change the annual or monthly billing frequency at any time. When changing plans or billing frequencies, the change will take effect immediately. Any unused time on your previous plan will be credited to your account, and the charge for your new plan will be prorated.
(g) Cancellations
You may cancel your Subscription at any time and for any reason.
Cancelling a free Subscription will immediately remove your access to any premium Content you were entitled to.
Cancelling a paid Subscription requires you to sign in to your account and follow the simple instructions found there to terminate your Subscription with us. After cancelling your Subscription, you can continue to access premium Content until your current Subscription period ends.
(h) Refunds
All Subscription payments are final and no refunds will be provided for any reason except if, by our own fault, we fail to publish any Content (see section 3) for 8 continuous weeks. Refunds will not be provided if this publishing lapse occurs for reasons outside of our control.
(i) Changes to Pricing
We reserve the right to change the Subscription cost at any time. This does not affect existing members already paying for a Subscription who will continue to pay at their existing rate.
(j) Changes to Subscription Tiers and Rewards
We reserve the right to restructure, add, or remove subscription tiers, or modify the Rewards on offer to each tier. We will notify you at least a month in advance of any proposed changes to give you a chance to offer us feedback or cancel or alter your Subscription tier.
Existing members will continue on their original tier (even if that tier becomes unavailable for new members) unless you manually change it through your account.
(k) Complimentary Subscriptions
Members on a complimentary paid Subscription who choose to upgrade, downgrade, or cancel their Subscription, will permanently lose their complimentary status.
Members can voluntarily remove their complimentary status at any time and start paying for their Subscription if they wish to support A Nonviolent God.
(l) Terminations
We reserve the right, without notice or liability, to deny you access to A Nonviolent God by deleting your account if we determine that your use of our services is in breach of these Terms of Use or of any applicable law or regulation. A refund will not be provided in the event of account termination.
If your account is terminated, you are prohibited from registering and creating a new account under your name, a different email address, or a false identity. In addition to terminating your account, A Nonviolent God reserves the right to take appropriate legal action(s), including without limitation pursuing civil, criminal, and injunctive redress.
